Liverpool’s spending spree this summer shows now sign of coming to an end. Reports from Tuttosport in Italy state that the Reds have made an £18 million offer to Paris Saint-Germain for Ezequiel Lavezzi. Juventus are also said interested in signing the Argentine.

Brendan Rodgers has already spent over £80 million in the transfer market, bolstering a squad that finished 2nd in the Premier League last season. Liverpool will, though, play in the Champions League for the first time since 2009 and hence the high number of players coming in to increase the squad depth is to be expected.

PSG have spent big this summer as well, shelling out £50 million to bring David Luiz to the French capital from Chelsea. They are also expected to complete a deal for Real Madrid’s Angel Di Maria for around €80 million. With such large amounts being spent, it is imperative that PSG sell players in order to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play Policy. Lavezzi is set to leave the club, and Edinson Cavani too is considering a move away from the Parc des Princes after being played out-of-position last season.
