Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Alex Teixeira has been on top of Chelsea’s wish-list for sometime now, and the London club were considering making a move for him in the January transfer window.

Well, the Blues need to act quickly as recent reports suggest that Premier League rivals Liverpool have opened discussion with Shakhtar over a move for their prolific midfielder.

According to Tony Barrett of The Times, Liverpool have made a €32m offer for the 26-year-old, but the Ukrainian club are seeking closer to €50m for one of the best players.

Liverpool have now sent “a club delegation, including chief executive Ian Ayre” to Orlando, Florida, where Shakhtar are currently participating in the Florida Cup.

The 26-year-old Brazilian has been in tremendous form this season, scoring 22 league goals in 15 matches, and he would be a terrific addition to the Liverpool squad.

Teixeira spoke of his desire to play for Chelsea in the past, but Liverpool would still be an attractive destination for him, where he can forge a strong attacking partnership with fellow compatriots Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino.

Liverpool want Lewandowski?

The Polish striker has been in sensational form this season, scoring 15 goals in 16 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich.

He has been targeted by several big European clubs including Real Madrid, but according to the Telegraph, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is hoping to convince him to make a move to Anfield.

Lewandowski was signed by Klopp at Borussia Dortmund and there is a chance he could persuade him to play under him again at Liverpool.

The Polish striker, probably would love to play under Klopp again, but any potential move will depend on whether Liverpool qualify for next season’s Champions League or not and whether Liverpool can make an offer attractive enough to pry him away from Bayern.
