Liverpool in pole position to sign Arsenal target from Spain

According to reports from Italian media outlet TMW, Liverpool are in pole position to sign young Villareal striker Luciano Vietto in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 21 year old Argentine has been in stunning form this season having scored 18 goals and grabbed 6 assists in 36 appearances this term.

We had in fact earlier reported that Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the player’s situation while Real Madrid and two Italian clubs Napoli and Inter Milan are also interested in the dazzling striker.

The player’s agent had earlier revealed that there is definite interest for his client, “There is great competition to sign him. He can sign for Liverpool because we know he likes the setup there. there is also Real Madrid and, I think, two German teams. I think he could leave Villarreal at the end of the season.”

A move to Liverpool will definitely suit Vietto as manager Brendan Rodgers has shown immense faith on youngsters to thrive for the Anfield side. Mario Balotelli has struggled since his summer move from AC Milan and Daniel Sturridge rightly needs a strike partner beside him to flourish. But he won’t come cheap in the summer with a lot of clubs interested for his services. Thus an interesting situation is on the cards.
