Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski is ready to snub a move to Napoli in order to join Liverpool this summer.

The Udinese midfielder spent last season away loan at Empoli and has been linked with a move to Anfield over the last few weeks.

According to the Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentis, Zielinski prefers a move to Liverpool and has decided to reject Napoli even though they have agreed a fee with Udinese.

He said: “Liverpool have made a bid for him and Zielinski wants to join them but we are trying to convince the player to join us, because we have an agreement with Udinese.”

The Liverpool Echo have confirmed that Jurgen Klopp’s side have submitted a 9.5 million pounds bid for the Polish central midfielder and are hoping to wrap up the signing soon.

The report also states that Klopp has personally spoken to the 22 year old midfielder and has assured him about his role at Merseyside.

Zielinski would add much needed flair and creativity to Liverpool’s central midfield next season. The likes of Milner and Henderson have done well to inject energy into Klopp’s midfield, but they have struggled in terms of creativity.

Zielinski can operate as an attacking midfielder or as an advanced central midfielder. The Polish star has been likened to Santi Cazorla in terms of style.
