Juan Iturbe

Iturbe started his senior career with Porto but was sent on loan to gain more first team exposures – first to River Plate (last season) and then to Serie A outfit Hellas Verona this summer.

Although, he has started only in four games so far, but has been in sparkling form this season, scoring two goals and bagging an assist to his name.

The 20-year-old is the second best player in the Serie A according to whoscored.com based on the current form. He has an excellent eye for passes but most importantly is a very good dribbler, with an average of 4.6 successful dribbles per game. In the match against Bologna, Iturbe got a rating of 10 from whoscored, bagging a goal and an assist to his name in that match.

This early sparkling form of the youngster has attracted many admirers over the Europe. It is understood that Juventus, Roma and Inter Milan are monitoring his situation with close interest while Porto, his parent club, can recall him too, once his loan period finishes.

Iturbe can play on the right wing (better to say right flank of midfield) or as an attacking central midfielder. Well, how serious Liverpool are at the moment (whether at all) is unknown, therefore it will be futile to discuss about how he would fit into the systems of Brendan Rodgers.

He is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in South America, dubbed often as “The New Messi”, while the Reds could keep a close tab on his progress. Take a look at this youtube video:
