Leeds United are closing in on the capture of Matej Vydra from Derby County.

The 26-year-old forward has been left out of Derby’s pre-season training camp as the clubs attempt to finalise talks regarding the fee and the payment structure.

Leeds are in desperate need of a proven goalscorer and Vydra would be a superb signing for them.

The Czech forward has proven himself at this level and he managed to score 22 goals in all competitions last season.

Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping to fight for promotion next season and Leeds will need players like Vydra to challenge the likes of Villa, Middlesbrough and Derby.

Telegraph claims that Leeds have submitted a bid for the striker and the player is closing in on a £11 million move to Elland Road.

Vydra’s signing will highlight Leeds’ ambitions as a club. It will be quite a statement if they manage to sign one of the best strikers in the Championship.

Leeds’ capture of Marcelo Bielsa has already turned heads. The Argentine is one of the best managers in world football and the fans will be delighted to see that the club are now pushing to secure the best players.
