The 20-year-old is a highly talented player who is expected to fill the boots left by Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan striker is all set to complete his move to Barcelona in the next few days.

Markovic was a long term target of Chelsea but the Serbian chose to join the Anfield club instead. He will become the fourth major signing of the season, following the arrivals of Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Emre Can.

Portugal press are insisting that Markovic would cost around €25m but English press are quoting a £25m value for the Serbian striker.

Liverpool haven’t given up on signing Alberto Moreno, the Sevilla defender. According to Liverpool Echo, the Reds would be looking to include Iago Aspas as a part of the deal to sign Moreno.
