Boca Juniors striker Jonathan Calleri says he is interested in playing in the Premier League. The Argentine striker admits that he follows Premier League champions Chelsea, further pouring fuel on the speculative fire that he could be heading towards Stamford Bridge in January.

Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the Boca striker since last month, and even reports circulated in the French media that the Blues had agreed to pay in the region of £6m for the 22-year-old striker.

Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed last month that Chelsea had been in talks to sign the Argentine and were looking to wrap up the deal, with an intention to send him on loan to Boca for the rest of the season. However, following the sacking of Jose Mourinho, Chelsea’s interest in him has somewhat cooled down.

“I’m very interested in the Premier League, Serie A and La Liga,” said Calleri

Of the latter, I see Real Madrid and Barcelona. In England, I follow Chelsea and Manchester City.

And of course in Italy to watch football Inter, Juventus and Milan. I like to see a bit of everything, even if one of the things that most prefer is the Argentine football.

The Argentine has been in great form this year, scoring 21 goals and further registering 11 assists to his name.

Chelsea have just managed 23 goals in 18 league matches so far and the Blues could be looking to sign a striker in January.

Diego Costa, Chelsea’s first choice striker, has been hugely disappointing this season, but he hinted of returning to form on Boxing Day by scoring twice against Watford.
