Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Pereira is all set to return from his loan spell this month.

The United youngster is currently on loan at Portuguese club Belenenses, but O Jogo are reporting that Jose Mourinho wants the player back at the club and has requested Manchester United to cut short his loan spell.

Apparently, Mourinho feels that Pereira has developed well and has enough experience to make his mark for United’s first team now. O Jogo also claim that Belenenses have already received an official request from Manchester United asking for the loan to be cut short.

It is believed that the imminent departure of Sam Johnstone on loan is the reason behind this move. Mourinho wants to add the 20-year-old to his goalkeeping options and the young keeper will now be the club’s third choice keeper.

Pereira has impressed during his time at Belenenses and has attracted the attention of Portuguese giants Benfica as well. However, the player intends to make the cut at Manchester United and will return to the club shortly.

The Portuguese keeper has a contract with Manchester United until 2020.
