Arturo Vidal saga drags on as we approach the last 48 hours of the summer transfer window. This has been one hell of a saga and it might drag on till the final minute, before the window shuts down.
There have been all sorts of reports. Throughout this summer he has come close to joining Manchester United several times (as per various reports) while Juventus camp were confident that their star player will stay with them.
The saga generated lots of interest among the Manchester United fans for mainly two reasons. First, the team is in dire need for world class players who can galvanise the mood at Old Trafford and secondly, Manchester United badly need to sign a top class midfielder, which has been their long term problem. Vidal ticks both the boxes.
The Chilean has an injury problem which could prove to be the biggest obstacle. He has been carrying the injury for quite some time now and played with it during the World Cup as well. He has had an operation as well, so there is a bit of skepticism around Old Trafford regarding the move, especially after the club went through horror experience with another injury prone midfielder, Owen Hergreaves.
According to latest report from Tuttosport and TMW, Manchester United haven’t given up on signing Vidal and will try till the last minute to secure a deal for the Chilean.
Vidal’s agent Fernando Felicevich was present at Juventus’ match against Chievo Verona and is reportedly trying to get the deal done. He is expected to speak with the player after the club and hold some important meetings. Last couple of days could be seriously exciting!
