Manchester United and Liverpool target Giorgio Chiellini has put an end to the speculation concerning his future after stating his willingness to remain with Juventus for the rest of his career.

Best defensive teams

The Italy international, who has been linked with a move to both Manchester United and Liverpool, has told reporters that he wishes to continue at the Turin club.

The 29-year-old joined Juventus in 2005 from Fiorentina and has made over 250 appearances in all competitions for the Old Lady.

“Ending my career at Juve? I hope so, I will be 30 in August, I can’t tell what will happen in the next years but there is the will from both parties to continue together,” said Chiellini (quoted by talkSPORT),

Manchester United are in desperate need of reinforcement in the summer, and bolstering the central defence remains one of the top priorities for manager David Moyes.

The Red Devils will be without skipper Nemanja Vidic next season, who has agreed to join Inter Milan, while veteran Rio Ferdinand may also pack his bags and bid farewell to Old Trafford.

Likewise, Liverpool may look to add one or two defenders, with manager Brendan Rodgers harbouring doubts over the long-term future of Daniel Agger.

However, it now seems Chiellini is to stay in Italy beyond the summer, and with Juventus set to reclaim the Serie A title for the third time in a row, can you blame him?
