Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has ruled out any possible transfer move to Manchester United, Chelsea or any other club he has been linked to in the last few months.

The hubbub of Pique being a reported target of Manchester United was started by British tabloids, which was subsequently picked up by the Spanish media, and from there on, it spread like a wild fire.

Five Potential Replacements For John Terry At Chelsea

That was back in November, when Pique was struggling with his form and was benched for few games, leading to speculation about his sour relationship with new manager Enrique.

Catalan press were convinced that Pique was dropped for tactical reasons, but Madrid press were busy in projecting it as a broken relationship between the pair.

It was around that time, British tabloids found it easy to link Pique to British clubs, with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United featured heavily in the gossip columns.

Pique in the meantime had found a way to get back into Barcelona’s first team and became the mainstay once again.

He is looking to regain the status of being one of the best centre-backs in the world, and clarifies that he has no intentions of leaving Barcelona.

Although he didn’t mention the name of his former club, but by saying, he won’t ever leave Barcelona, it only implies that he is rejecting any possible moves to other clubs.

Speaking to a programme “‘El Partido de las 12″ for Cadena Cope, via Sport, Pique said: “I will never play for another team.”

Pique adds that he wants to retire at Barcelona and that he is motivated enough to carry on with the profession for years to come.

The Barcelona defender also admits that he has a good relationship with Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, having played with him at Manchester United, but feels his Barca team-mate Lionel Messi is slightly better than the Portugal skipper.
