Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Dimitar Berbatov could make a sensational return to the North London club on the transfer deadline day.

The 33-year-old striker, who will be out of contract next summer, scored 46 goals for Spurs during his three years’ stay at the club. He was sold to Manchester United in 2008-09, where he spent four years with the Old Trafford giants.

He joined Fulham last season and has scored 20 goals so far for the Cottagers. However, the London outfit are looking to add new faces, like Konstantinos Mitroglou, who had a medical last night at Fulham, the door is open for Berbatov to make a sensational return to the club where he made a huge impression.

According to the reports from The Times, Berbatov’s agent has been in London, while the Fulham forward has also attracted an offer from Besiktas as well.

Fulham are expected to sign Lewis Holtby from Spurs on loan for the rest of the season. Holtby was hoping to make a return to Germany, but Schalke were refusing to pay four times the transfer fee they received a year ago and meet the midfielder’s wages of £75,000 a week.
