Mattia Destro is one frustrated player who is currently plying his trade his trade in Italian side AS Roma. The 23 year old who arrived in the Italian capital in the summer of 2012 with a big reputation has never lived up to his billing. This summer too there were a lot of interest from top European side who were seeking his signature. However, Destro stayed put at Roma as it waso his desire to play in the Champions League and the challenge to compete with Juventus for the Serie A crown. Destro however has cut a sorry figure as manager Rudi Garcia has persisted with ageing captain Francesco Totti. Moreover with Roma playing a 4-3-3 formation packed with midfielders, the Italian has managed only 5 appearances in the Serie A till this point and has only started one Champions league game. Destro though has shown his quality whenever called upon, hitting the back of the net 4 times.

Today;s reports from the trusted TMW claims that the striker could finally give vent to his frustrations and leave Roma in the upcoming Janaray transfer window. The website have cited Rome based Media outlet Il Messaggero reporting that Arsenal have already made contacts with Roma over a possible transfer move for the player in the winter transfer market.

It is believed that Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of the player and would like to plot a move for him to witch loyalties for the North London club in January. Earlier we had reported that Chelsea were ready to offer €25m to Roma for the striker. This sets a magnificent sub-plot come in January. But who will win the tug of war for the striker in January? Or will Destro reject a move to stay at Roma again?
