Liverpool are hoping to conclude one or two more signings before the transfer window slum shut and going by the reports are keen to land Sevilla’s highly rated left-back Alberto Moreno. Yesterday, Sevilla’s local newspaper Estadio Deportivo claimed that a deal has been struck between both the clubs and that Moreno will join Liverpool after playing his final match against Real Madrid in the UEFA Super cup in Cardiff tonight.

However, such reports were quashed to dust, as Sevilla’s club president Jose Castro claimed that no agreement had been reached with Liverpool, but the player could be sold, if the right price is met. No fuss there. We have been alarmed with such stance throughout the summer, right?

image “There have been negotiations [for Moreno], eight or 10 days ago, but there has been no agreement and nor is there today,” Castro told the club’s official website on Monday.

“If Liverpool’s offer is suitable he will leave. If not, he’ll stay and nothing will happen, absolutely nothing. We’ll be at ease.”

Spanish newspaper Marca report today that despite such claims from the Sevilla camp, Moreno will join Liverpool for a fee around €20m. He wants to add another trophy/European medal to his name before bidding farewell to his Sevilla team mates.
