Burnley striker Danny Ings has been told by former Clarets star Robbie Blake to hold out for a move to Liverpool or Tottenham in the summer rather than join Spanish side Real Sociedad.

The English striker reportedly flew out to Spain to hold talks with David Moyes about a possible summer switch.

The 22-year-old has proved his worth in the Premier League this term after netting nine times in his debut season in the topflight.

His manager Sean Dyche has stated that the former Bournemouth front-man, whose contract at Burnley expires in the summer, should remain in the Premier League next season after showing everyone he can deliver at the top level.

And former striker Blake agrees that Ings should stay in England rather than go abroad.

“Danny Ings was on fire last season in the Championship and people were wondering whether he could do it in the Premier League,” Blake told talkSPORT.

“He’s proved that he is a top class player at this level and he scores all sorts of goals. It would be a shame if he did go to Real Sociedad in my opinion because it wouldn’t further his career.

“He needs to move on and go to a top team in the Premier League this summer, a club like Liverpool or Tottenham.”
