Bad new for Liverpool fans. Liverpool confirm that scans have revealed Daniel Sturridge has sustained a new thigh injury. Sturridge could be out again for six weeks.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge declared himself fit recently and was eagerly waiting to make a comeback against Crystal Palace this weekend. However, it seems like the England international will have to spend lengthy spell again on the sidelines as recent report suggest Sturridge has suffered a fresh new thigh injury.

The injury-plagued striker has not played for the club since August and The Times reporting that he has once more picked up a similar injury to the one who sustained whilst on international duty in September.

Liverpool will assess the damage within next 48 hours but as it stands his long-awaited return could be delayed.

Sturridge was sidelined for the past ten weeks after picking up a calf injury. Liverpool fans can only hope that his injury isn’t serious and that he returns to the squad quickly. 

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been left frustrated with lack of goals this season with three other strikers – Fabio Borini, Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli has yet to open their account in the 888 minutes of Premier League action.
