Arsenal, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, and Napoli are all in the market this summer for a proven prolific goalscorer, and Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez could certainly prove to be the ideal candidate.

Mexican international striker Javier Hernandez, known by his nickname Chicharito, has been at Manchester United since the summer of 2010. Since then, he has gone on to score an impressive 50 goals in 117 games in all competitions. For his country, Hernandez has featured on 53 occasions, scoring 35 goals.

However, this season the 25-year old has been frustrated with the lack of playing time afforded to him. While making 22 Premier League appearances for the title holders, Hernandez featured 13 times from the bench – averaging 43 minutes of playing time per game. Despite this, he netted 10 times in the league this season – scoring a total 23 goals in 41 games for club and country during the 2013/14 campaign.

His value is said to be around £15M, but Manchester United could be favourable of a season-long loan move for the Mexican. He’s still highly-regarded with the Mancunian side and has become a popular figure with the fans.

Dubbed ‘super-sub’ because of his knack for scoring many goals while coming off the substitute’s bench, a host of sides around Europe are keen to procure his signature. The 25-year old has a lot of competition at Manchester United for a starting place (Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, and Danny Welbeck) and may consider a change of scenery to get regular first-team football.

His professional career goal tally is as stands: 114 goals from 245 games. Hardly to be sniffed at, and for £15M, Hernandez could be a potential bargain by comparison to £52M-rated Edinson Cavani (Napoli), £30M-rated Robert Lewandowki (Dortmund), and £25M-rated Alvaro Negredo (Sevilla).

Napoli and Dortmund are facing offers for their respective top goalscorers, Real Madrid are on course to sell Gonzalo Higuain to Arsenal this summer, Chelsea have two strikers who could be leaving the club, Bayern Munich have been after competition for Mario Gomez, and Manchester City are looking to replace Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli, which means they could all be making an official bid for Hernandez in the coming week.
