Chelsea winger Christian Atsu has confirmed that he will be joining La Liga club Levante in the January transfer window on loan.

The 24-year-old winger joined Bournemouth on loan this season, but failed to impress under Eddie Howe, managing only two appearances for the Cherries.

Chelsea were forced to cancel his loan move due to the lack of playing time.

Last week, we reported that Atsu had been in talks with Spanish outfit Levante, and had agreed personal terms as well.

Guss Hiddink has already given his approval to let Atsu join Levante, but the Spanish club haven’t received any formal confirmation from the Blues as yet.

Atsu has revealed in an interview with BBC Sport that he hopes to complete his move to Levante in the next few days.

However, according to Sky Sports, Malaga have joined the race and are likely to beat Levante for his signature, having offered him more first team opportunities.

It seems Atsu has set his sight on joining Levante. The La Liga side are equally keen to sign the talented African star and are confident he will help them avoid relegation in La Liga this season.
