Chelsea winger Alex Kiwomya extends his loan spell at Crewe

Chelsea have agreed on a deal with Crewe Alexandra to extend the loan spell of Alex Kiwomya at the League Two club.

The highly talented 20-year-old winger made his professional debut on loan at Barnsley and then went to Fleetwood on loan during January 2016. Kiwomya has scored 7 goals in 24 appearances for Crewe so far this season and has been a major hit in League Two.

The explosive young winger had signed a loan deal with the League two side until 9 January 2017, but both clubs have agreed on a deal to extend his stay at Crewe and Kiwomya is expected to continue his development with more first-team action under his belt.

The transfer has been confirmed by Chelsea on their official website.

The highly rated 19-year-old winger was an integral part of the Chelsea U21 squad that won the Under-21s Premier League, UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup. The player has also represented England from Under-16 through to Under-19 levels.

The 20-year-old attacker primarily operates as a right winger and is blessed with breathtaking pace. The Chelsea youngster was a record holder when was 14 for having completed a 100m sprint in under 11 seconds. Kiwomya is rated highly by the Chelsea coaching staff for his versatility as well and can play anywhere across a front three.
