Title contenders Chelsea have moved swiftly to secure the long term future of Brazilian midfielder Willian, as the club officials met with the representatives of the player and offered an extension on his current deal.

The Londoners have already offered new deals to key players like Oscar, Eden Hazard, Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta this season and are looking to add their utility man Willian to that list.

Willian joined Chelsea in the summer of 2013, from Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala, following intense speculation that the Brazilian would join the likes of Tottenham or Liverpool.

The Brazilian has been a key cog in Mourinho’s setup since his 32 million pound move from Russia and has delivered in a number of positions when called upon. The 26 year old has been in impressive form this season and has helped Chelsea to the top of the table in the league as well as the Champions league.

According to recent reports, talks between the club and the player’s representatives have been positive and both parties hope to reach an agreement by the end of the season.
