Chelsea striker, Patrick Bamford, has arrived today at Middlesbrough’s training ground to undergo a medical and then complete his transfer.

Bamford has been one of the several young players who have spent most of the time on loan outside Stamford Bridge. However, this time, the move is permanent. He will leave Chelsea after five years, but hasn’t made a single senior appearance for the Blues.

Chelsea recalled him from his year-long loan spell at Burnley last week. Bamford has hugely disappointed in this loan spell, playing a grand total of only 33 minutes across six games in the Premiership. His last appearance for the club came in the 2-1 defeat against Manchester City on January 2, when he was brought on for the final two minutes.

The 23 year old striker enjoyed the most productive spell of his career during the 2014-15 season with Middlesbrough in the Championship, having scored 19 goals for the Riverside club.

Take a look at the picture of him arriving at Boro’s training ground:

A deal has been already struck with Middlesbrough for Bamford. Boro have agreed to sign him for an initial fee of around £6m, and it could rise to £10m if bonuses and add-ons are taken into account.
