Swansea striker Fernando Llorente is edging closer to a move to Stamford Bridge if recent reports are to be believed.

The Spanish international is expected to join Chelsea in a swap deal which would see Michy Batshuayi head the other way on loan for the rest of this season.

It is still unclear whether Llorente would be a permanent signing for Antonio Conte‘s side. But Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has tweeted that the deal is moving closer.

The move makes sense for all parties involved. Swansea could definitely do with a younger, quicker and more determined attacking option like Batshuayi and Chelsea are in need of an experienced backup striker.

Batshuayi has had very little chance to showcase his talent under Conte so far and he needs to go out on loan and play regularly. Furthermore, similar playing style means that Llorente will also be an ideal backup for Costa.

Also, it is important to remember that Conte has worked with Llorente before at Juventus and the duo won the Serie A together in 2014.

Llorente has scored six goals in 17 Premier League appearances so far and is surely a target for Antonio Conte according to another Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague.
