These are really tough times for Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata. The Spaniard, who was arguably the best player of Chelsea last season, has been given a cold shoulder treatment by Jose Mourinho, while he has been asked to prove his worth.
The 25-year-old is desperate to show his mettle to his manager and hopes that his versatility will fetch him regular game time under the Portuguese.
Despite all these, there’s no doubt that his future remains under scrutiny and quite naturally gets linked with a move to several top clubs across the Europe.
European giants Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG have had already registered their interest in the attacking midfielder, but as per the latest report from Daily Mail, La Liga outfit Valencia are eager to bring back their former player at the Mestalla and are even lining up an ambitious move to re-sign Mata in the January Transfer window.
It is understood that Valencia have already begun the process of speaking to sponsors and local businesses to raise an extra fund of £25 million, to make a genuine attempt to sign in the next transfer window.
Valencia have gone through financial difficulties in recent years but are hoping that Mata would consider a switch, and even could accept a lower wage to return to his beloved club. The Spanish club could also be looking at the possibility of bringing him on loan in the January transfer window.
While, Mata knows that moving to Valencia won’t be a profitable idea at this moment (lack of Champions League) but at the same time, he will get regular game time, which would boost his chances of being a regular for Spain at the World Cup.
