It seems like Chelsea are still in the market to sign one central defender before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.

The Blues have already confirmed the deal for Papy Djilobodji, who will join the London club on a four-year-contract.

According to reports from Sky Sports, Chelsea have moved in late to sign PSG’s highly rated defender Marquinhos, who is also a reported target of Manchester United.

Chelsea have offered 35m-55m euros for the 21-year-old centre-back, but the two bids were rejected by the French champions.

The Blues are looking to sign a quality centre-back before the window closes, following their poor start to the season.

The Champions were heavily interested in Everton defender John Stones and were ready to pay £40m for his signature. However, Everton refused to sell the defender, as a result, Chelsea were forced to look for options elsewhere.

With only few hours left for the window to close down, it remains to be seen, whether Chelsea can submit another mega bid to convince PSG into agree to a deal.

The last few hours could get very interesting!
