Chelsea striker Diego Costa is keen on a return to Atletico Madrid and the La Liga giants are ready to break the bank for him.

Spanish outlet Cadena Ser have claimed that Diego Costa has already informed Atletico Madrid of his desire to return and the Madrid club are trying to work out a summer transfer.

The Spain international was key to Chelsea winning the title last season but his suspensions and poor form this season has fuelled rumours that Costa could be angling for a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Cadena Ser‘s claim has been further backed by another Spanish outlet Fichajes, who have claimed that Diego Simeone is excited about the prospect of working with Diego Costa again and would happily bring him back.

Simeone is delighted with Costa’s desire to return and Atletico Madrid are planning a summer transfer for the unsettled Chelsea striker.

Meanwhile Chelsea have been linked with the former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain.

The Napoli striker has been in sensational form since joining the Italians and is a prime target for the Blues. Higuain has worked with Jose Mourinho before and the pair have a good working relationship.

It is understood that Mourinho is willing to work with the Argentine again and will move for him if Costa decides to leave in the summer.
