Chelsea have agreed on a new contract with their club captain and centre-back John Terry.
The England defender was linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer but the Chelsea legend has decided to extend his stay at his boyhood club for another year at least.

The Chelsea official website claims that the decision was made after talks between Conte, Terry, Abramovich and the club’s board.
The news of Terry’s extension will come as a major boost for the fans who are disappointed how this season ended for the Blues. The Chelsea legend has won every major club honour with Chelsea so far.
Terry said: “I am delighted to sign a new contract with the club. Everyone knows I’m Chelsea through and through.”
“I am looking forward to next season under the new manager and hopefully we can make it a successful one.”
The England defender will now enter his 22nd season with Chelsea and will be looking to guide his side back to the top of English football once again.
New manager Antonio Conte will need the help of the senior players while rebuilding the squad and Terry staying will help him both on and off the pitch.
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia reflected on the extension: “We look forward to another year with John at the club, and believe he will be an important figure in the dressing room and on the pitch as we look to bring success back to the club next season.”
