Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign the Shakhtar attacker Alex Texeira.
The Brazilian confirmed earlier this season that he is talks with Chelsea regarding a January move and it seems that the Premier League Champions have made a breakthrough.
According to Daily Star, the player has agreed to join up with Guus Hiddink’s side next month and is expected to be a key part of Chelsea’s revival in the second half of the season.
Texeira has been a target for several European clubs after his splendid performances in the League as well as the Champions League.
The Brazilian has scored 22 goals in 15 appearances this season and is one of the highest scorers in Europe right now.
Texeira can operate as a number 10 or out wide. The versatile attacker can also play as a forward and is expected to add goals and creativity to Chelsea’s frontline.
The likes of Hazard and Costa have struggled so far this season and new signing Pedro has been ineffective mostly.
It will be interesting to see who makes way for the Brazilian now as he is expected to be a key member of the starting lineup when he joins up with the Chelsea squad.
