Bertrand Traore’s loan move hints at potential Chelsea transfer

Chelsea have agreed on a loan deal with Ajax for the highly talented academy striker Bertrand Traore.

According to London Evening Standard, the move for Traore is a huge hint that the Blues are close to making an attacking signing.

Traore found the net four times in 20 appearances for Chelsea last term and has score twice in the pre-season as well.

Apart from Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi, Chelsea do not have any specialist striker in their squad. Loic Remy is expected to complete a transfer away from Stamford Bridge soon.

In that case, letting go of Traore does seem strange unless the Blues are freeing up that space for someone else.

Evening Standard claim that Remy has been offered to Everton along with cash for Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian is a prime target for the Blues and according to Evening Standard’s theory, Chelsea must have received some sort of encouragement that a transfer can be done for him or any other target.

Alvaro Morata has also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

It is important to note that Evening Standard’s claim is pure speculation at this point and there is no reason to believe that Chelsea are about to sign Lukaku or Morata.

However, it does make sense for them to sign another attacker when they get rid of Traore and Remy eventually.
