Manchester United could be looking to sign a striker in the summer. And a high profile striker, to be precise.

Mark Ogden, a well connected journalist within the club, in his recent article wrote that United would not looking to make Radamel Falcao’s loan deal permanent in the summer, thereby chances are highly the club will look for a new striker.

He mentioned in his article that United are keen on signing Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, who could be persuaded to move away from PSG in the summer.

Italian website Calciomercato has an exclusive report on transfer saga of Cavani. They claim Juventus’ sporting director Fabio Guild met Cavani couple of weeks back in an attempt to convince him join the Italian champions in July.

Apart from high transfer fee and equally massive wage problems, Juventus are worried about Manchester United, who are equally interested and better placed financially in signing the PSG striker.

The report claims that Cavani wants to return to Italy but he wants to wait for sometime and find how much Manchester United are interested in him.

Arsenal are regularly linked with the PSG striker by English tabloids and it remains to be seen whether the Gunners match his £44m (or more) transfer value or not.

Basically it means, Cavani will wait to see if United make any offer for him or not before making the final decision. Over to you Louis van Gaal!
