Colombian striker Jackson Martinez has been on the wishlist of several top Premier League clubs over the last 18 months. Chelsea were long said to be interested in bringing the Porto forward to Stamford Bridge, but missed out on him last year.

According to the report, representatives from the Italian giants have already contacted the player’s representatives are looking to strike a deal. Martinez is valued at around €35 million.
The striker was overshadowed by James Rodriguez at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, but scored two goals as Colombia reached the last 8.
Arsenal are looking for a striker who can contribute 20-25 goals a season as they look to challenge for the league title again. This season, they are already out of the race, being 13 points behind leaders Chelsea at the halfway mark.
