Arsenal Transfer News

Arsenal striker Joel Campbell doesn’t seem to have any future with the North London club. Last season he was sent on loan to Villarreal and this summer the club is actively looking to sell him.

Campbell’s agent has reportedly said that although the winger is currently staying in London, but the Costa Rica forward is open to move.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Emirates, but Arsenal haven’t received any good offers for him as yet. Only reasonable offer the club have received is from Serie A club Palermo, but Arsenal weren’t too impressed with their £3.5m offer.

Last season he made 22 appearances for Villarreal but it won’t make any difference to his situation at Arsenal, as he is unlikely to feature for the Gunners this term.

According to Chilean daily La Nacion, Campbell is not prepared to leave Arsenal on another loan spell; rather, he wants a move away on a permanent basis.

Arsenal fan blog Daily Cannon had found a source on Twitter (AFC Press Watch) where Campbell’s agent was quoted as saying: “For now he remains in London, but as I said he is one of those who is on the market.”

Arsenal are looking to sign a striker before the transfer window closes, and the Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. Even if Arsenal fail to sign any world class striker in the summer, I personally can’t see, Campbell playing any major role for the Gunners this season.
