The North London side have failed to win even a single trophy for over eight seasons and Kroenke has made winning silverware this season as a priority over the Gunners’ success off the pitch in recent years.

Arsene Wenger had urged the club fans to for their extended support to bring success to the Emirates as the Gunners sit on top of the Premier League table with 16 points from seven games.

“We are pleased with the progress of the club, most importantly progress on the pitch. None of us up here [on the board], fans, players, or Arsene [Wenger] are happy until we have won trophies, we have said that over again and are committed to that,” Kroenke stressed.

“It is also important for the club to be successful commercially, and we are pleased with that. We have come a long way, with the debt being paid down, commercial revenues are increasing.”

“We have more [deals] coming and are confident. However, nothing works unless we have success on the pitch,” Arsenal’s American owner added.

Arsenal have ended their tag of not spending bid in bringing new faces to the club after Wenger went on to splash out the cash to sign Mesut Ozil for a club record transfer fee of £42.5million in the summer.

The German international was signed from Real Madrid on the deadline day after both clubs agreed on terms for the sale of the midfield general. Since Ozil’s arrival, there has been a positive mood in Arsenal’s camp and also a similar feeling among the club fans to end their trophy drought.

Wenger, who also spoke during the club’s annual general meet remains optimistic that the club’s tough time are behind them and is confident of positive things to come at the end of the season in May.
