Arsenal and Roma are the two leading clubs thought to be interested in PSG’s highly rated midfielder Adrien Rabiot. The youngster has only a year remaining on his contract, and has made it absolutely clear that he won’t continue with the French champions.

Roma have confirmed that they are interested in Rabiot and are keen to sign him in January, rather than wait for next summer when he’ll be a free agent.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi also revealed in an interview with Le Parisien that the club had spoken with Roma and other clubs for a possible summer transfer but the deal didn’t materialise in the end.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport reports that Roma have apparently postponed a scheduled meeting with PSG. The news would come to the advantage of other teams like Arsenal who have been linked again with the Frenchman early this week.

According to reports from Daily Mail, PSG are demanding around £6m for his services, and Arsenal are hoping to tie up the deal at the earliest.

Arsenal are looking to sign a top class defensive midfielder, and Rabiot could be a perfect signing for the Gunners. Not only will he add quality and depth to the side, but he can be the perfect long-term replacement of Mikel Arteta as well.
