Arsenal have been linked with several top midfielders in the summer and even after the transfer is closed, the trend hasn’t stopped. Ever since, German star Mesut Ozil has joined the Gunners on the transfer deadline day from Real Madrid, it seems like North London has become a possible destination for some of the top young German players.

There are three main reasons, why Arsenal hold an advantage over other English clubs while attracting a top talent from Germany at this point of time.

First and foremost – the common choice factor – Champions League. If Champions League is the central motive for any German youngster to ply trade elsewhere, they’ll get that here as well.

Therefore, other incentives and factors should be the deciding issues for the German players. At Arsenal, there is a strong continent of German players which is one of the major reasons why a German international would want to come and play. It will be like their second home only.

And finally, the Mesut Ozil factor. Ozil is seen as a superstar in Germany and a world class player in its truest sense. Therefore, he should be an inspiration and blue-print for others while making any decisions about their career.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move to four German stars in the last few months – Ilkay Gundogan, Lars Bender, Marco Reus and Julian Draxler.

All of these four players are exceptionally talented and all of them could make a move should Arsenal offer handsome money to their parent clubs. Arsenal are in need of a solid defensive midfielder/deep lying player and therefore could try their luck on Bender or Gundogan but at the same time players of extraordinary capabilities like Reus and Draxler will give a new dimension to their attacking unit as well.

Draxler has been linked with Arsenal again today as per The Guardian and it will be interesting to see whether Arsenal step up the chase for him in the January transfer window or not.
