The Chilean international had an impressive run for the Catalan club, before being one of the star players for his national side as Chile crashed out of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. His form has attracted interest from top clubs from England and across Europe.

Brendan Rodgers is set to lose the Reds’ hope of keeping Luis Suarez as the former Ajax man is keen on joining Barcelona this summer. However, Liverpool are willing to let the controversial striker join the Catalan club if they get Sanchez as a part of the swap deal.

According to The Telegraph, the Gunners are set to hijack Liverpool’s move for Sanchez and make a £30m bid for the Chilean’s signature. The former Serie A forward is not keen on joining the Merseyside club this summer and has set his sights on making a switch to London.

The La Liga giants’ director of football Raúl Sanllehi and Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre met in London on Wednesday to discuss the potential transfer of Suarez. The talks between the two have been “productive,” but are yet to reach to an agreement.

It remains unclear if Sanchez was included as a part of the deal during the initial talks between Liverpool and Barcelona chiefs.

However, Arsene Wenger has not stopped his side’s chase for Sanchez and has made the Barcelona star as the Gunners’ prime transfer target. The North London club are aware the final decision rests with the player and he has reportedly decided to join the Emirates club this summer.

The Camp Nou side has already confirmed bids for their forward after Barcelona’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta hinted that they are willing to let Sanchez leave the club in the summer transfer window.

Should Sanchez reject Liverpool and opt for signing Arsenal, it could complicate Barcelona’s approach for Suarez.
