Arsenal have managed to beat Chelsea 1-0 in the 2015 Community Shield at Wembley on Sunday.

Theo Walcott found Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the right wing, who then managed to cut in and curled it to beat the Blues keeper Thibaut Courtois in the 24th minute. It is for the first time the Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has managed to win against a team manager by Jose Mourinho.

Petr Cech moved to the Emirates from the west London club earlier this summer. It was for the first time the Czech Republican international faced Chelsea since joining Arsene Wenger’s side.

He was forced to make a save in the second half from Oscar’s free-kick and his save restricted the Premier League champions from making a comeback. Following the Gunners’ victory over their London rivals, Arsenal fans took on Twitter to express their delight after retaining the Community Shield.
