The agent of Yaya Toure has hinted that Manchester City star could be heading for a Barcelona return in the summer transfer window.

The Ivory Coast international joined the Citizens from Catalan club and helped them win two Premier League titles, including that during the 2013-14 season. The midfielder’s future is in the air after he expressed his disappointment as City failed to wish him on his birthday on May 13.

Toure took to Twitter and suggested that he will make a decision over his future at the Etihad after the World Cup in Brazil. The 31-year-old’s agent Dimitri Seluk has opened the door for a return to the Catalan club after admitting his client is still loved by Barcelona players and their fans.

“It’s difficult to say now [where his future lies], maybe after the World Cup we’ll know more about his emotions and the situation. But what I do know is that the staff at Barcelona, the players and the fans all like Yaya very much,” Seluk told Talksport.

“But Barca is one of his former clubs, he had a great time there and it’s like another home for him. It’s obviously the same at Manchester City, the fans love him very much, they understand Yaya is a great player.”

“[But] if people don’t give us attention we will forget about them and work with other people,” he said.

Toure’s representative says he is not 100% sure that City star will be at the Etihad next season. Seluk explained the midfielder is hurt after the newly crowned English champions did not appreciate for his contribution this season, which was then followed by their failure to wish him on the player’s birthday.

“Honestly, it’s not 100 percent he will stay at Manchester City, it’s better to say 50/50. He then went on to explain the reasons behind Toure’s sudden unhappiness at City,” Toure’s agent stressed.

“I tell you this is not about cake, more importantly it is about attention. Yaya can buy cake for everybody and it’s no problem from him. When Yaya is on the pitch he works very hard for the entire 90 minutes.

“He takes the ball from his own half and runs the entire length of the field and scores beautiful goals, there aren’t too many players who can do this.”

“He has motivation to play well for City, he fights for City, but he feels he fights for the team and the club forget about him. It’s very upsetting for him,” Seluk concluded.
