Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho has been frequently linked with a move away from the Ligue One champions this summer.

The France international previously admitted he would consider his future with PSG if he continued to be a bit-part player for the side.

AC Milan and Liverpool have both enquired about the centreback’s services, but had their advances rejected, and the club stated no bids would be considered until Sakho stated he wanted to leave the side.

The 23-year old said he would bide his time over a decision, and it now appears he could be ready to seek out a new challenge.

‘Now that I’ve spoken to (PSG manager Laurent Blanc & president Nasser Al-Khelaifi) everything is clear in my head. I will announce my decision, which will result from these discussions.’

With the 2014 World Cup approaching at the end of next season, Sakho revealed he had the France national team in mind when thinking of his future at PSG. He cited how regular first-team football is vital to his chances of being called up next summer.

Paris Saint-Germain recently confirmed the signing of ex-Roma defender Marquinhos for a fee said to be around £27M. He is expected to quickly force his way into the first-team as he was a Serie A regular last season at Roma.

Many feel the Brazilian defender’s arrival will be the straw that broke the camel’s back in regard to Sakho’s future.

He has previously admitted to be flattered Liverpool and AC Milan are courting him, and would consider a move if the offer was put to him.

Following the news the 23-year old could be on his way out, Liverpool and AC Milan are expected to step up their bid in the coming week, and are hopeful of agreeing personal terms. His asking price is said to be around £15M.
