If I had to pick one word to describe the World Cup, the word at the top of my list would be diverse.
From how each continent (well, you know, the ones beside Antarctica) is represented well, to the footballers, to the varying styles of play, to the fans who attend, the many languages spoken by players, fans, and broadcasters, and so much more, the World Cup genuinely lives up to its name.
And of course there’s the flags. There are many that are recognizable without a second glance, but for those that are harder to put a name to, we’re here to make sure you know your World Cup flags as well as you do the players who‘ll be saluting them.
Not only is this section here to help those who want to familiarize themselves with the national flags of all 32 teams taking part in the 2010 World Cup, but it also will hopefully serve as a valuable one-stop resource for those who are covering the World Cup and want to spice up their articles.
Perhaps you just want to make sure you get the right flag so you can fully support Slovakia (and not Slovenia) or Australia (and not New Zealand), or you want to know who the various World Cup babes are throwing their support behind. But whatever your need is, we’ve got it covered below.
