Arsenal camp is buzzing at the moment. The buzz was felt when they signed German midfield maestro Mesut Ozil on the transfer dead-line day from Real Madrid for a record fee and from then on, there has been no looking back.

And after earning their latest away victory against Marseille in the Champions League tie, their third in succession, praises are flying all around. The Gunners winger Theo Walcott, who scored against the French outfit on Wednesday, has hailed the impact of Mathieu Flamini, saying his leadership on the pitch is what Arsenal missed badly.

The French midfielder was re-signed in the summer on a free transfer, having spent four years with the Club between 2004 and 2008.

Walcott said as quoted in the club’s official website:

“The likes of Mathieu coming in, he’s a leader and you saw him bossing people around, that’s what we need. It showed from last season how we wanted to be in the Champions League and I think we are pushing on now.”

The England star has also hailed the impact of midfielder Aaron Ramsey. The Welshman, who suffered a career threatening injury early in his career and had a torrid time last season, has returned strongly this campaign scoring three goals already.

“I think you can see there’s a lot of players are having fantastic starts to the season like Aaron Ramsey who has been incredible to play with. It just shows because everyone believes in each other and the trust is there and that’s all we need.”

“He had one of the worst injuries in football and he’s had a hard pre-season.”

“He’s worked very hard and it’s definitely paying off now. He’s enjoying his football and he’s difficult to get off the pitch.”

Walcott reveals that Ramsey has put in tremendous effort in training and it seems that all his hard work is now paying off. While, at one point of time last season, it felt like his situation as hopeless, this campaign, his rejuvenation seems like a new signing altogether.
