The summer transfer window may be over but the rumour mill is omnipresent. Despite domestic leagues and European competitions in full flow there are lot to speculate as we anticipate the ‘fast approaching’ January transfer window.
We bring you a roundup of all the latest transfer stories including Manchester United’s significant interest in a Chelsea target while Arsenal are also continuing to monitor long-term target.
Manchester United make contact with Antoine Griezmann’s agent?
According to reports from Spanish media outlet Fichajes, Manchester United have already initiated talks with Antoine Griezmann’s agent as the Red Devils aim to sign the French sensation.
Chelsea had been intensely linked with the Atletico Madrid striker over the summer but any sort of failed materialize between either sides. We had reported a couple of days ago that Atletico rejected Chelsea’s €50m offer plus Mohamed Salah in exchange for the 24 year old as the Rojiblancos were desperate to keep hold of the player’s services.
In fact Chelsea will push for Griezmann in January but now that Manchester United have entered the race for his services, it will be difficult for the Blues who are going through a torrid season so far. The report from Fichajes however states that Griezmann’s future lies in the Premier League. So who among Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal get one over each other in the transfer market?
Certainly, time will give us an apt answer.
Arsenal monitoring long-term target Stephan El Shaarawy:
According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Italian striker Stephan El Shaarawy who is on loan at French side Monaco.
The 22 year has endured two tough seasons at AC Milan with injuries but he has been a regular for Monaco so far this season. The Gunners have long been linked with the striker with Arsene Wenger being a keen admirer of the player.
Arsenal definitely need a quality striker who can help them mount a significant Premier League title challenge. Though it’s hard to say that whether El Shaarawy will be an upgrade over Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott or Danny Welbeck, Arsenal could make a statement in the winter transfer window with their recruitment.
Jurge Klopp set to hold talks with Mario Balotelli’s agent:
Balotelli struggled under Brendan Rodgers last season and was sent to AC Milan on loan for the entire season. But now with Klopp in charge, the 25 year old could have a future at the Red half of Merseyside. Klopp with his strog personality and impressive man management could bring out the best out of the player who seemed lost under Rodgers last season.
