Chelsea agree £20m contract with Leonardo Bonucci

New Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is looking to add to his defence this summer and the Juventus centre back Leonardo Bonucci has been identified as a priority target.

The Blues are in desperate of need quality at the back and after Zouma’s injury, they are left with an ageing John Terry as their only reliable defender. The likes of Ivanovic and Cahill are simply not up to the mark and have been very inconsistent recently.

It remains to be seen how the young French defender Kurt Zouma recovers from his knee injury. If all goes well, he could be the perfect foil for Bonucci.

The Italian international is one of the best defenders in the world right now and the 29 year old would bring a perfect blend of quality and experience to the Chelsea back four.

Furthermore, the likes of Kalas, Zouma and even Christensen (if he is recalled from loan) can develop their game away from the limelight under the guidance of a fantastic defensive manager and two accomplished professionals in John Terry and Leonardo Bonucci.

According to latest reports, Chelsea have agreed a 20 million pounds contract with the Juventus defender and need to agree a fee with the Italian champions now.

The Italian has agreed a 3 year deal worth around 6.7 million pounds per season.

Liverpool closing in on Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic

Liverpool have been linked with a move for the former Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

The Croatian has struggled to get a look in at Santiago Bernabeu and is looking to leave the club in order to get some regular first team football.

Jurgen Klopp is thought to be an admirer of the central midfielder and is ready to sign him as a partner for the German Liverpool midfielder, Emre Can.

Kovacic will cost around 23 million pounds, if Liverpool do decide to buy him.

According to latest reports, the Merseyside giants are closing in on the Croatian midfielder and an agreement could be reached soon.

Kovacic is one of the most talented young central midfielders in Europe and would be a fantastic addition to Liverpool. Furthermore, the move would benefit the player as well. He will be able to kick start his stagnating career under the tutelage of one of Europe’s best managers in Jurgen Klopp.

Manchester United submit bid for Julian Draxler

Jose Mourinho is apparently very impressed with the Wolfsburg winger Julian Draxler.

The former Schalke star has impressed with the national team this summer in the absence of Marco Reus and Manchester United are eyeing up a move for him.

Draxler joined Wolfsburg recently and will not be allowed to leave unless there is a huge offer.

According to reports, Manchester United have submitted an offer for the German winger. Although the exact figure is unknown, it is thought to be lower than what Wolfsburg are set to demand.

Apparently, the German side value Draxler at 38.5 million pounds and his suitors will have to pay up if they want to sign him this summer.
