Despite rejecting offers from Paris Saint-Germain weeks ago, Tottenham Hotspur have softened their stances and are now willing to grant Emmanuel Adebayor a loan move to join the French giants in the January transfer window.

PSG earlier approached with a loan move for Adebayor, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy rejected such advances, however, with less than a week of the January transfer window to go, Tottenham have reconsidered their loan offers that cover Adebayor’s £100,000-a-week wages.

The Telegraph’s Matt Law reporting that PSG will not have to pay any loan fee to sign Adebayor and now must decide whether they want to push with the move for the former Arsenal striker.

Although Adebayor has dropped down the pecking orders at the club under Mauricio Pochettino, but Spurs would be reluctant to send him on loan now, as it would leave them with just Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado as two recognised strikers at the club.

A lot depends on whether Spurs can replace Adebayor before the window closes. Spurs are seemingly interested in Burnley’s prodigy Danny Ings, but it is highly unlikely the England U-21 international will be sold this month.

Adebayor has a contract till 2016, but the former Manchester City striker doesn’t have a long term future at the north London club. Spurs will be relieved in a way if they can find a potential buyer who are willing to pay for the player and cover his hefty wages.
