Tottenham have agreed a deal with PSV Eindhoven to sign goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes for £7m, subject to personal terms, a medical and a work permit.
Gomes, 27, has played for Brazil and conceded only 24 league goals last season with PSV. Gomes made his name at Cruzeiro in Brazil before moving to PSV in 2004 where he has won four Dutch titles.
His arrival will be a source of optimism for Spurs fans who have seen their side concede some ridiculous goals because of schoolboy keeping and defending errors. Now all they need is a fit King and Bale to partner Gunter and Woodgate in defence next season.
Gomes joins Giovani Dos Santos and Luka Modric as the Jaunde revolution picks up pace at White Hart Lane.
