thomas_mullerBayern Munich star Thomas Muller has revealed that he has a good relationship with incoming Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.

The 24-year-old came up through the ranks of the Bavarian club’s youth system and was handed a regular place in the Bundesliga outfit’s first team, while the Holland boss was in charge at Allianz Arena.

Even before Van Gaal was confirmed as United manager, The Mirror reported the former Barcelona manager is keen on bringing Muller to Old Trafford. However, the German international has played down the speculations and suggested that he’s happy with his current employers.

“It’s not a secret that Louis van Gaal and I have a relationship that goes a bit further than a normal trainer-coach relationship,” Muller told Sports Bild.

“I have a contract with Bayern Munich until the summer of 2017. I really enjoy playing for Bayern. There’s not really anything better than this.”

Muller has managed 13 goals from 31 league appearances and was an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s side that won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal this season.

The German forward was linked with a move to Barcelona, while reports suggested United were also keen on acquiring his services. The German newspaper Bild had earlier suggested both the player’s agent and Muller refused to comment on reports linking Bayern forward to Old Trafford.

The player’s agent dismissed suggestions over a possible switch to Camp Nou, while not commenting on the Red Devils.

“Barcelona definitely is not an issue for Thomas,” Muller’s agent Koegl told as reported by ESPN FC.

Meanwhile, United have reportedly agreed a fee in signing Muller’s club and national teammate Toni Kroos.
