There’s a very good reason I subscribe to UEFA.com Magazine’s RSS feed (in fact, you should as well): well written articles, always a fresh perspective and news that you tend to miss in the hype created by today’s tabloids.
Case in point – today’s Off the Ball column on the gossip and transfer rumours in Europe.
My favourite bit of the article:
Lilian Thuram’s move to FC Barcelona from Juventus may of course have been influenced by the Italian side’s enforced relegation, but at his unveiling he stated that there was another, more pressing reason.
“I went to the UEFA Champions League final with my boys [five and nine] last May in Paris. They really appreciated Barça’s stars. And when I told them Dad could play with Ronaldinho and [Samuel] Eto’o, they were over the moon. To please my children was one of my motivations to move.”
Now that’s how you make the public believe it’s not all about the money, Sheva. Then again, I’m more inclined to believe Thuram than Shevchenko.
To find out about which London club is eyeing Madrid’s Ronaldo for a transfer, and what competition John Terry has the Chelsea team hooked up in, read the article.
