What does it take to win a league title?
On the first episode of the Soccerlens Podcast, Stephen Darwin is joined by blogger Neil Jones as we take a closer look at all the ingredients of a successful title chase and the different factors that can affect a title race.
In particular we look at the success Manchester United have had this season and why their competition have struggled to match their efforts.
We talk about the value of consistency and squad balance in winning titles, the role the manager plays in a club’s success in the league and in Europe, how Liverpool blew it in the January transfer window, whether Huntelaar can help Madrid beat Barcelona, and finally, who’ll be winning the Bundesliga this year.

Wow, I really loved the podcast.
@ Stephen – fantastic job at host. I loved your carefully chosen topics of discussion along with the insights and analysis of the various European leagues. I rekcon its about time people realized the EPL and La Liga aren’t the only leagues to that exist. Great job mate.
@ Neil – what can i say? You did a brilliant job and i’m really pleased you were the guest. Nice punditry and analysis about Rafa, Klinsmann and Mourinho if i might add. Quite reminiscent of the beloved Kevin McCarra of the Guardian football weekly podcast.
