Celtic have agreed on a long-term contract with their highly rated keeper Ross Doohan.

As per the report on their official website, Doohan has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2022.

Doohan is very highly rated by the club staff and the fans will be delighted to see his long-term future secured.

The report adds that the youngster will now head out on loan to the Championship side Ayr United.

The 20-year-old needs to play regularly in order to continue his development as a footballer and a loan spell seems ideal for him at this stage of his career.

He is not ready to start for Celtic just yet and he is too good to waste away at the youth level.

Doohan joined Celtic in the summer of 2016 and he has been on loan at Morton previously. The young shot-stopper will be hoping to grasp this opportunity with both hands and return as a better player at the end of next season.

An impressive campaign with Ayr United could help him force his way into Rodgers’ first-team plans.
