Both Manchester United and Arsenal need a striker in the summer and it seems the two Premier League giants are fighting over for Juventus forward Alvaro Morata.

Morata joined Juventus in 2014 for a reported fee of €20 million and has won Serie A twice during his time in Italy. The Spain international has had a below-per season scoring 11 goals in 46 appearances, but did put up a strong performance in European games for the Bianconeri.

The problem is Morata has a buy-back clause of €32m and Real Madrid are likely to activate his clause. The chances of him playing for Juventus next season is very slim.

Real Madrid are looking to activate his buy-back clause before selling him on at a profit, and Los Blancos are in no rush to sell as they believe they can make a good profit on the player.

Arsenal have already made contact with Real Madrid as well as Morata’s agent but the Gunners are unhappy with the slow pace Madrid are dealing with the transfer.

Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claimed recently that the Gunners had lodged a €65m bid to sign the Spain international this summer. To be honest, Italian media has a tendency to over-hype things, but nevertheless, the interest in the player could be genuine.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio, both Arsenal and Manchester United have made a formal approach to sign the player. French champions PSG are also interested in signing him, but the former Real Madrid striker wants a move to the Premier League instead.

There is also a strong interest from Chelsea, with new manager Antonio Conte wishes to speak with the player personally and convince him to move to Stamford Bridge in the summer. The Blues are also looking to offer him a hefty wage package around €7m per year.

Morata, who has been selected for the Spain Euro 2016 squad, hasn’t communicated anything to Juventus but there is a strong feeling that he could leave this summer.
